Stephanie Westdal has travelled the world and human experience as a musician.
Her original songs have some electronic/dance elements, some jazz-tinted pop, there’s an alternative backbone, sometimes even some industrial elements.
It covers a lot of ground, but so does she. Bilingual, a celebrated visual artist as well, it started in her hometown of Winnipeg, then years in Africa, the Middle East and Europe, and back to Winnipeg.
Her musical fuse ignited fronting ‘90s buzz-band Chains On 20, with debut album Finally and hot single Bleed getting national airplay and acclaim.
Westdal heard the call of the globe and set off to find deeper meaning in her music, art and life.
Inspired by international music friends, and her longtime Winnipeg production collaborator Chris Burke-Gaffney (Chantal Kreviazuk, MacKenzie Porter, Eagle & Hawk, etc.), she has so far crafted a pair of solo albums: Into The Blue and ShaBooBoo Burger, with more in the works.
